Courses
Math Models with Applications (A, B)
In this course, students use algebraic, graphical, and geometric reasoning to recognize patterns and structure to model information and solve problems. Students will model and solve real-life problems involving money, data, chance, patterns, music, design, and science. Students will use a variety of representations, tools, and technology to link modeling techniques with mathematical concepts to solve applied problems.
Prerequisites: Algebra I, Geometry One Credit Geometry (A, B)
This course is an introduction to plane, solid, and coordinate geometry as a deductive science. It builds on algabraic foundations and connects to the real world through a variety of applications and settings. Students have regular and appropriate access to technology as they work with geometric constructions, coordinate graphing, algabraic analysis, and computation.
Tutorials are held on Tuesday & Thursday from 2:15-3:15 PM in Mrs. Gamez's room. Prerequisite: Algebra I One Credit |

My name is Julissa Gamez. I am originally from South Texas and have been teaching mathematics for 14 years. I graduated from Texas A & M International with a double major in Sociology and Mathematics. Currently I am teaching Geometry and Math Models and Applications (MMA), which is a review of Algebra 1 and Geometry concepts. I truly enjoy having the opportunity to work with our students and enable them to build their confidence when it comes to one of the least liked, but most important subjects in school, math. My
goal is that all my students will leave my class with a greater understanding
and appreciation for mathematics. Tutorials
are available Tuesday and Thursday after school (2:15-3:20). If
you should have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 281-634-2900
or 281-634-6478.
