English IV (A, B)
Students enrolled in English IV continue to increase and refine their communication skills. Students edit their papers for clarity, engaging language, and the correct use of the conventions and mechanics of written English and produce final, error-free drafts. Students compile information from primary and secondary sources and represent this research in a variety of ways. Students read extensively in multiple genres from British literature and other world literature, including classical and contemporary works. In English IV, students are expected to write in a variety of forms, including business, personal, literary, and persuasive texts. Students learn literary forms and terms associated with selections being read and interpret historical influences on the literary work.

Greetings, I have had the amazing opportunity to meet many of you via phone calls, emails and personal meetings. In case I haven’t, I’m elated to be your child’s English 4/ READ 180 instructor. My goal for my students is to make them more well-rounded; successful in both the academic and social aspect of life.
As a parent, I do understand the importance of education and gaining an appreciation for knowledge. I believe in hard work, instilling motivation to obtain success. I received my undergraduate degree at The University of Houston, and my masters in Counseling Education from Houston Baptist University. Currently, I have been teaching in FBISD for 7 years, and pursuing my LPC license to open up my own practice to work with youth and adolescence. If you ever need anything, or have suggestions on ways that I can better assist your child, please let me know. The one thing that I do ask of you is to communicate. Ask about their experiences, concerns, and accomplishments. I hope that you will join us on the Davis train to get to our "Destination Graduation". |
